How the red looks from set to set

What varies most between the red product pages is the tone of the pens and fittings. Rose-gold-tone fittings come with the bright red of the Luna 8 and of the Luna 10 with the two-tier tray, and rose-tinted gold-tone fittings with the fine-textured red of the Luna 9. The Luna 10 with a single tray is described with silver-tone pens on a red with a smooth, fine grain. The two sets without pens are the Luna 4, a red with a fine, matte texture, and the Luna 5, a bright red with a fine grain.

Red or burgundy

Burgundy is not a darker version of these Luna sets; it is a different color on different families. Our desk set color guide calls it a deep wine red that looks rich against dark wood. The burgundy desk sets are all executive, from the Venus, Vega, Cloud and Prestige families, so a ready-made compact set in either color means a red Luna 4, 5, 8 or 9.

Red desk accessories as an accent, by the set or by the piece

The same guide calls red the boldest accent of its statement colors and says it works best on a plain desk. It lists red as a bolder choice on a black desk and on a gray or metal one. Looking after a red set
