Desk Accessories for Women: Matching Sets in Every Color
Desk accessories for women are not a separate product line at Luxury Desk Set: no product here is sold as a desk set for women or a desk set for men, and every set is a desk pad with matching accessories that anyone can order. Shoppers who use the phrase are often looking for colors beyond black and brown, or for a gift.
The short answer
- Color. Ready-made sets come in white, pink, turquoise, orange, red and blue as well as black, brown, gray and green, and Build Your Desk Set offers most models in the full color range.
- Desk. A compact set has four to nine pieces and an executive set ten or more. The desk pad comes in two sizes: 13.4 × 18.9 in (34 × 48 cm) and 15.0 × 22.8 in (38 × 58 cm).
- Name. Most sets include a nameplate. Its gold or silver plate is printed with your name and an optional title.
The full color range is in Build Your Desk Set
Among the ready-made sets, pink, turquoise, orange and red come only as Luna sets, which have four to ten pieces on the smaller pad. In Build Your Desk Set you choose a model, add the pieces you want and pick one color for the set. Luna, Vega, Star, Elegance, Galaxy, Venus, Chester and Genesis, our genuine leather model, can be built in the full color range. Cloud, Prestige and Pulsar have a shorter list, and Vesta comes in black.
Use it when the color and the pieces you want are not on one product page:
- A bright color on the larger Desk Pad: Star, Elegance, Chester or Genesis.
- A clock or a picture frame in that color: Star has a Desk Clock and a Picture Frame, and Elegance a Pen Cup with Integrated Clock. Clock batteries are not included.
- A mouse pad: Venus in the tool has a Mouse Pad to go with its Desk Pad.
- One or two pieces only: there is no minimum, so a single Pen Cup or Coaster is a complete order.
Each piece shows its own price in the tool. For a second color, add another set on the same page.
Light and bright sets you can order ready-made
Each of these colors has its own collection, and every set in it is faux leather.
- White. White desk sets come in the Luna, Vega, Star and Venus families, in compact and executive sizes. The finish runs from smooth white or off-white on Luna to a fine grain on Venus, and Star brings the larger pad.
- Pink. The pink desk sets are not one shade: smooth and matte on the four-piece set, bright with rose-gold-tone pens on the eight- and nine-piece sets, and a bright rose pink with a beige lining on the ten-piece set with the two-tier tray.
- Turquoise. Most turquoise desk sets are described as smooth or bright; the ten-piece set with the two-tier tray is a light, aqua-leaning turquoise.
- Orange. Orange desk sets go from a smooth, matte orange to a burnt orange with a taupe lining.
- Red. Several red desk sets are described as bright red. Burgundy is a separate, darker color: see the burgundy desk sets.
- Blue. The blue desk sets are the Luna sets plus the Vega 14-piece set with nameplate, and most are described as royal blue.
The pink, turquoise, orange and red sets are the same Luna line-up, with a personalized nameplate from eight pieces up. Cream, on the Galaxy sets, and beige, on the Cloud 10-piece set, which has no nameplate, have no page of their own. Find both with the color filter on all desk sets.
Black, brown, gray and green
A search for office desk accessories for women does not have to end in a bright color. The widest choice of sizes is in the two colors that come on the most sets: see the black desk sets and the brown desk sets. Gray desk sets run from charcoal to slate with a blue tint, and the green desk sets are all dark shades. To judge a color against your desk finish, floor and walls, use our desk set color guide.
A senior office: an executive set with a name plate
For a private office with visitors, start with the executive desk sets: most have a document tray, a phone stand and a personalized nameplate, and some add a clock or desk flags. Executive describes the piece count, not the pad, as two examples in light colors show:
- The Star 11-Piece Desk Set with Two-Tier Tray in white ($300) has eleven pieces on the larger pad, among them a two-tier document tray, a picture frame and a personalized nameplate base, in a smooth white.
- The Galaxy 12-Piece Desk Set in cream ($200) is built around the smaller pad: twelve pieces, with a two-tier document tray, a phone stand, three coasters and a personalized nameplate base, in an ivory cream with a fine grain.
Wording the name and title
The plate takes a name of up to 32 characters and an optional title of up to 36. Both are printed on the metal plate, not engraved, and the plate shows exactly what you typed. Four habits help:
- Use the professional name. Copy it from an email signature or a business card, including a hyphen or a second surname. Some people use one surname at work and another at home; the plate takes the work one. Hyphens, apostrophes and accented letters are accepted.
- Leave out Ms., Mrs. and Miss unless the person uses one at work.
- Copy the title as the organization writes it. Chair, Chairwoman and Chairperson are three different titles; print the one on the letterhead.
- Shorten a long title the way the organization does. Chief Executive Officer and President is 37 characters, one over the limit; President and CEO is 17.
| Name line | Characters | Title line | Characters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renée Delacroix-Hart | 20 of 32 | General Counsel | 15 of 36 |
| Dr. Ingrid Solheim | 18 of 32 | Dean, School of Engineering | 27 of 36 |
| Siobhan O'Dwyer, CFA | 20 of 32 | Managing Director | 17 of 36 |
The names are invented. The nameplate is also sold as a single piece: see personalized desk name plates. For credentials and departments, read what to put on a desk nameplate.
Small desks and shared rooms: compact sets
Every one of the compact desk sets uses the smaller pad, so on a small desk the choice is about pieces:
- Four pieces, many colors. The Luna 4-Piece Desk Set ($120) is a desk pad, pen cup, memo holder and coaster. The link opens it in a smooth, matte pink; the same page offers black, white, brown, gray, green, blue, red, orange and turquoise.
- Five pieces, with a business card holder. The Luna 5-Piece Desk Set in white is the Luna 4 with a business card holder added, in a smooth off-white with tonal stitching.
- A small set with your name. The Luna 8-Piece Desk Set with Nameplate in turquoise ($150) adds a personalized nameplate base and two ballpoint pens to the Luna 5, in a bright turquoise with gold-tone pens.
In a shared room, or at a desk more than one person uses, a set without a nameplate is the simpler choice: the Luna 4 and 5 or the Vega 4 and 9. Memo holders come without paper.
If the set is a gift
Do not choose pink because the recipient is a woman. Choose a color you have seen her pick for her own office, or keep to what our color guide says: black goes with almost any desk finish, and white suits bright rooms. If the wording on the plate turns out wrong, we can change the nameplate text until the order has shipped, and not after. Desk size and occasions are covered on our personalized office gifts page.
